BioBernhard "Buddy" Baker. stumbled upon his unique gift of accessing animal abilities while on a hunting trip. He has since become a vegetarian, fought many battles for animal protection/well-being as well as crime in general, is a member of JLE and has two adorable children (Maxine and Cliff).
And of course, a very supportive wife named Ellen who is a novelist. (Don't mess with him. She'll hurt you.)
More recently, he's mostly been parenting and working in films. He's aided Swamp Thing working on a task force called Totems. He's more than willing to work with the JLA or JLE when he's neaded.
